Core 3

The Core Business Park, Aberdeen

The Core Business park was identified as a prime site for a new speculative office, workshop, Yard facility to meet anticipated market demands for new space and incorporates scope for future expansion.

The architectural approach has considered the design and scale of the respective office and workshop elements and provided appropriate distinction between the two elements; the trapezoidal profiled composite metal cladding panels laid vertically to the workshop component have been used to ‘cap’ the office component, where a more refined ceramic granite façade system, full height aluminium framed windows and feature PPC aluminium banding have been introduced to further break up the massing of the building. Feature ceramic granite clad ‘fins’ have been introduced to give a visual separation between office and workshop accommodation with full height curtain walling announcing the main entrance with double height reception / waiting area beyond.

The orientation of the building has been further influenced and developed to maximise the opportunity for the office accommodation to offer a strong street frontage to the key public realm areas to the eastern boundary acknowledging the wider site masterplan principals and vision.

An attractive landscaping scheme in accordance with THE CORE Landscape Design Code has been be provided to enhance the overall aesthetics of the development.

All appropriate sustainability measures have been incorporated to make the building as efficient as possible.
