Core 4c

The Core Business Park, Aberdeen

Relocation from existing premises in the Bridge of Don, The CORE Business Park was identified as a prime location for a new office, workshop and yard facility.

Working within the wider site framework, the new facility provides; 850sq.m office accommodation over 2 storeys, with a mix of both cellular and open plan office accommodation and meeting rooms, alongside the necessary office support functions, 1268sq.m workshop accommodation with stores support and equipment testing bays and is provided with overhead craning to the entire footprint and a 2513sq.m concrete yard, enclosed by security fencing.

A considered architectural approach along with a palette of high quality materials was used to create a solution which provided appropriate distinction between the two elements; office and workshop. The cladding treatment to the building generally was used to ‘frame’ the office component, where a more refined cladding system and full height glazed panels were introduced to further break up the massing of the building. The buildings orientation has been further influenced and developed to maximise the opportunity for the building users to take advantage of views ‘out’ of the building, to the east, toward Murcar Golf Course and the North Sea beyond.
